The exhibition Portugal and the Great War, which aims to commemorate the first centenary since the beginning of this world conflict, was developed by a research team at the Institute of Contemporary History with support from the National Library of Portugal, and is organized around ten key themes: Portugal and the War; War and Peace: Diplomacy and Foreign Relations; War in Africa; War in Europe – Flanders; In the trenches; Domestic Front; Social Crisis/Issues; Medicine; Arts and Letters; and Memory, with intersecting , documentation and images.
