The German Federal Agency for Civil Education (Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung) is hosting a panel discussion on the world before the outbreak of the First World War and the war’s consequences. What did the world look like in 1914? What led to war? What traces did the war leave behind? How has it been remembered and memorialized? All this and more will be discussed in the panel featuring Herfried Münkler, Gerd Krumeich, Christa Pöppelmann, and Martin Bayer, with moderation from Jennifer Schevardo.
